Melior of Milana book two: Wars of Winter
After defeating King Phillip and declaring peace in all the land, Melior of Milana has only one desire: to reign as the queen she was raised to be and marry her true love Tristan Carravagio. After all, she loves him with every fiber of her being and knows he feels the same. Yet after stumbling across a web of subterfuge woven by none other than her true love, Melior is forced to reconsider who she can truly trust. But in a world of honest lies and twisted truths, trust can be hard to find. And while all may be fair in love and war, what is one to do when they must choose between the two?
Excerpt 1
I am still fighting the overwhelming darkness when I feel my body being lifted and settled on a pair of masculine shoulders and jostled around as I’m being moved. I’d know these arms anywhere. It’s my former love and present nemesis, Tristan Caravaggio.
Excerpt 2
Enough!" The general raises his voice just enough to silence us.
Despite being his Queen and sovereign, and Lucas the best commander of our army, we both immediately comply and go silent. He will always have that effect on both of us, I suppose. He stands up stiffly.
"Come with me, Lucas. We must prepare for battle." He turns his dark eyes on me.
"I will see you, ladies, at dawn."
Lucas stands up and follows his father out the door. As soon as he leaves, Maya comes up to me and folds me in a hug.
